Overview

Located in the charming Liberties of Carlingford on Newry Street, Wildwood Streetfood Box offers a fresh and vibrant take on casual dining. This cafe stands out by blending diverse street food flavors from around the globe, delivering bold dishes that feel both authentic and contemporary. The menu highlights such as the rich Chicken Curry and tender Cooley Beef Stew showcase a comforting yet adventurous culinary lineup. Meanwhile, items like the Top Jerk Chicken paired with a Moroccan Vegetable Tagine bring together aromatic spices and textures that excite the palate.

Wildwood’s street food ethos is clear—robust flavors, carefully prepared ingredients, and a relaxed atmosphere. From succulent lamb burgers with Moroccan seasoning to the creatively assembled vegan bean burgers and chilli non-carni lentil dishes, there’s a definite inclusivity for vegetarian and vegan diners. Their use of flatbreads, polenta, and even nori wraps reflects a thoughtful fusion approach that’s rare in local cafes.

The outdoor seating under a wooden roof fosters a casual, family-friendly space ideal for locals and visitors alike. Many guests praise the attentive service and warm hospitality, making Wildwood an inviting spot for a midday meal or simply a coffee and cake break. The vibe is modern yet unpretentious, catering well to families, casual diners, and those seeking wholesome street eats without fuss.

Although primarily open-air, the layout encourages a laid-back dining experience that complements the street food concept. While most customers find the food fresh and flavorful, occasional inconsistencies remind us that this is a venue focused on genuine, down-to-earth fare rather than polished fine dining. It is precisely this honest approach that draws a loyal crowd eager for quality without pretense.

For anyone exploring Carlingford’s culinary scene, Wildwood Streetfood Box presents an exciting destination to enjoy globally inspired dishes grounded in local charm. Whether you seek a hearty chicken curry, imaginative tacos, or vegan delights like their carrot cake and bean burger, this cafe strikes a fine balance between innovation and comfort—making it a must-visit for street food enthusiasts and casual eaters alike.

Great, cheap food; very good service. Seems like a more modern, casual place locals go for coffee/ lunch. Seating is only outside under a wooden roof.

This place was recommended to us and it did not disappoint, the toastys are like nothing we had eaten before! My kids can be hard to please, but they really loved the food! It's Run by nice people and it's a cool place! Remember everyone, it's street food! Don't go there expecting Michelin Star table Service! Just good quality grub on the street!

Could be great, but not this time. This place seems like it has potential — the staff were friendly and did offer a refund when we raised an issue. Unfortunately, the salad in my order wasn’t fresh, which really affected the overall experience. Hopefully just an off day, but it left a poor impression.
